We shall keep our fingers crossed for the best Hungarian DH rider this weekend on the Leogang world cup. After the fine results achieved on the Tihany Downhill, the LiMiT Racing guys line up to the start in Leogang. Attila Liszi, who became the best Hungarian in junior category at Tihany, András Szecskay, the best Hungarian on the time trial, who also proved that technical skills were needed for success on the BalatonBikeFest downhill, and Miki Kántor, who arrived to the finish with exactly the same time result as Jani Krizsák are already preparing for the next challenge.

Erste Tour Tihany - or Festival on the Tihany peninsula / Results

The Erste Tour Tihany public road bicycle race was held on 13 June, which was the Erste Tour series’ second stage event. The field of the race started form the Balatonfüred Sundance park with a slow start, and when they reached the Tihany peninsula the real race started.

Saturday was the most crowded day for the trailers, the Árgus-Security Trial Hungarian Cup, the Europe Cup Qualification and the One-wheel championship began at 11 am. All amateurs, seniors in 26” and 20” categories and the under 16 one-wheeler trailers started at 11 in the morning. This was both the beginning of the Hungarian and the European cup as well.

The Monster Energy Dirt Contest professional MTB and BMX finals start today afternoon at 6 pm. The riders are already out on the course, they came out earlier to practice in cooler weather.

Storm cancelled triathlon – X2S duathon cross country

Level 2 storm signal was announced due to stormy weather which blasted the water event of cross country triathlon away on the new contest of the Balaton Bike Fest. The organizer X2S team quickly modified the course as it was possible, so the kids and the adults started the triathlon event with running in tropical heat.

Summary on amateur and pro Dual Trial

The Dual Trial contest in amateur and professional category started today at 11 am. Due to that unfortunate fact, that today is one of the last days of school, we had to begin the race with reduced number of participants. 8 riders were in the amateur and 3 in the professional category. During the contest the ranking was set up based on the “everyone against everyone” principle. The fastest in the amateur category was Máté Gólya, and this is his 12th victory. The second was Richárd Rubint with 9 wins and the third place was taken by Ferenc Zelenai with 8 triumphs. After a half-hour break the pro contest was next, where two Hungarians and one Romanian Hungarian guy were fighting for the best place. The top place of the ranking list was reached by Tamás Mátyási, the second became Gábor Orbán Barra before the 3rd place of Viktor Borszéki. The race ended with an interesting duel between Zoltán Császár with his one-wheeler and the best pro rider, what was a real excitement for the spectators.

Leogang World Cup day 1

We departed for Leogang early morning, and when we got there perfect weather welcomed us. Stand building, registration, packing. Than Szöcsi, Kisliszi, Miki and I did a course check on foot. We found many new things there, track alternations, rock gardens built, new ramps. It will not be easy…

Vuleta Cup Tihany 2010

The Vuleta Cup Tihany was held on the hottest weekend of 2010 so far. Owing to the date and location many visitors and spectators came to see the event and the race went on in really good mood.

The Olimpic division of mountain bike, the XCO first debuted in the program of the Balaton Bike Fest this year. On this particular race international rank list points could have been collected for the London Olympics. Because of the heavy storms of the past weeks the organizers had to relocate the place of the race to the mount next to the festival center.

Tihany Downhill: day of the final!

On Friday, June 11, the final of the Tihany Downhill was held on the second Balaton Bike Fest. Everyone had a last chance to practice in the morning, and all the racers took this opportunity, they were making the rounds constantly with the cars taking the racers up the start. Event at practice it was clear-cut that there are many entrants for the long jump special prize. The guys did nice long flights. We saw quite a lot of jumps landing near the 18 meter sign.
